Academic integrity refers to the ethical and professional behavior expected from all participants in the training process. It requires honesty, authenticity of work, and fairness, ensuring that no learner gains an unfair advantage over others.

  1. Forms of Academic Misconduct

Academic misconduct includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Cheating:

Using unauthorized resources, assistance, or tools during assessments or activities.

Identity Fraud (Impersonation):

Allowing another person to attend sessions, complete assignments, or take exams on behalf of a learner.

Unauthorized Collaboration:

Sharing answers or working jointly on tasks intended to be completed individually.

Forgery or Manipulation:

Altering or falsifying documents, grades, or training records.

Plagiarism:

Using someone else’s work, ideas, or content without proper acknowledgment.

Account Misuse:

Sharing login credentials or allowing others to access one’s account.

  1. Procedures and Consequences for Violations

Skills Gate reserves the right to apply the following actions when academic integrity violations occur:

  • Warning the learner and documenting the violation.
  • Invalidating the activity or assessment and assigning a zero grade.
  • Requiring a monitored retake of the assessment if identity concerns arise.
  • Temporary account suspension for repeated or serious cases.
  • Dismissal from the training program or revoking the certificate in cases of major misconduct.
  • Reporting to the supervising authority (TVTC) in severe or repeated violations.
  • Skills Gate may take additional actions in accordance with national e-learning regulations.

Skills Gate Mechanism for Preventing Identity Fraud and Cheating in E-Learning Programs

Skills Gate is committed to maintaining high standards of integrity by preventing identity fraud and cheating in all online programs that exceed one month in duration. The following mechanisms are applied to ensure authenticity and fairness.

  1. Learner Identity Verification

Skills Gate implements several steps to verify the identity of all learners:

  1. Verification at Registration

Matching the learner’s name and national ID/Iqama number with registration or payment information.

Uploading an ID copy during account creation (if required).

  1. Login Verification

Sending a one-time password (OTP) to the learner’s mobile or email for secure authentication.

Blocking simultaneous logins from multiple devices or suspicious locations.

  1. Verification During Live Online Sessions

Learners must join sessions using their real name as registered.

Camera activation at the beginning of each class or upon trainer request.

  1. Verification Before Assessments

Requiring a live selfie/photo match before starting the exam.

Trainer or system monitoring through video proctoring when applicable.

  1. Mechanisms to Prevent Cheating & Verify Learners’ Work

* Individual accounts for each learner with strict restrictions on password sharing.

* Timed assessments and controlled activity windows to limit external collaboration.

*Use of plagiarism detection tools to ensure originality of assignments and written work.

* Short periodic quizzes to confirm consistency in learner performance.

* Audio/video submission tasks to ensure the learner performs language-based * activities personally.

* Monitoring exam logs for unusual behavior or suspicious patterns.

* Final assessments conducted under live supervision with required camera access.

3 : Handling Suspected Violations

If identity fraud or cheating is suspected, Skills Gate will:

Notify the learner officially.

Require a monitored reassessment.

Upon confirmation:

Cancel the assessment results.

Record an integrity violation.

Apply actions as per the Integrity Policy (account suspension, dismissal, certificate cancellation, and/or reporting to TVTC).

This mechanism applies to all Skills Gate online programs.

Any synchronous or asynchronous training exceeding one month

 

Skills Gate E-Learning Attendance Policy

 

Skills Gate applies a clear attendance policy to ensure that electronic attendance is considered equivalent to traditional attendance. This policy aims to maintain training quality and comply with regulatory requirements.

 

  1. Electronic Attendance Equivalency

 

Attendance through virtual classrooms and the Learning Management System (LMS) is fully equivalent to traditional attendance.

 

Attendance is recorded through:

Participation in live virtual sessions (synchronous learning).

Engagement with self-paced content (asynchronous learning).

Completion of required activities and assignments.

 

  1. Minimum Attendance Requirement

Learners must attend at least 75% of the total program hours to successfully complete the program.

For fully asynchronous online programs:

A minimum of 25% of total program hours must be delivered via live virtual classrooms.

 

For blended training programs:

At least 25% of the total program hours must be counted as attendance (virtual or face-to-face).

These requirements apply to all programs exceeding one month in duration.

  1. Attendance Monitoring (Synchronous & Asynchronous)

Skills Gate monitors attendance through:

Automated attendance reports from virtual classrooms.

LMS login and activity tracking.

Completion tracking of asynchronous learning activities.

Periodic performance and attendance reviews.

 

  1. Actions for Non-Compliance

 

If a learner fails to meet the minimum attendance requirement, Skills Gate may apply the following actions:

 

Official warning issued via email or LMS notification.

Temporary restriction from final assessments until attendance is resolved.

Withholding program completion certificates.

 

 Identity Verification Mechanism on the Skills Gate LMS

Skills Gate ensures secure and reliable access to its Learning Management System (LMS) by implementing a robust identity verification mechanism at every login. This system protects user accounts, prevents impersonation, and supports the integrity of the online training environment in compliance with regulatory requirements.

 

   Identity Verification at Login

Skills Gate applies a multi-layer identity verification process, including:

  1. Username and Password

Each learner and trainer is provided with a unique account.

Sharing login credentials is strictly prohibited.

  1. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

At every login or when accessing the platform from a new device, a One-Time Password (OTP) is sent to:

The registered email address, or

Access is granted only after successful OTP verification.

  1. National ID / Iqama Linking (When Applicable)

User accounts are linked to the learner’s or trainer’s National ID or Iqama number provided during registration.

Identity data is matched with system records for verification.
